It started snowing this morning and hasn't stopped! I love the snow, and it gets me into a holiday mood! We went and got our Christmas tree about a week ago. We love to go pick our own tree and cut it down. It's something both our families did when we were small, and it's definitely a tradition we will continue after the little one is born. We decorated the tree this weekend, and wrote out our Christmas cards. Our shopping is done, and now we are just waiting for my family to come! They'll be here in less than a week!
I'm 13 1/2 weeks along in the pregnancy, and feeling great! My nausea is completely gone, although now it seems like I'm hungry all the time! The baby is evidently the size of a lemon now. :) I'm very much looking forward to feeling the baby move, which should happen in the next couple of weeks! I also definitely look pregnant now, which to me is much better than just looking like I've gained weight!
Well, I'm off to make some hot cocoa. It sounds really good right now!

Video
The baby at 12 weeks.
The baby was very wiggly! He/she is so much bigger now! I could see the little arms and legs moving around, and make out the facial features! It's amazing to look at the 6 week picture, then the 12 week video and see how much has changed!

Ultrasound at 10 weeks

The second ultrasound, at 7 weeks. We first heard the heartbeat that day! More a blob than a dot now, which is how we typically refer to the baby: as LB, or little blob!
This was the first ultrasound, at 6 weeks. Hard to imagine that dot as a baby!
Expecting!
We are currently expecting our first baby! I am 12 weeks along right now.
The first trimester went pretty well, I think. I was very tired for a few weeks early on, and I had pretty constant nausea for about 5 weeks, but I feel much better now! I've been to the OB twice so far, and everything is going fine! My lab work all came back normal, except I have no titer for Toxoplasmosis, so I have to be a little more careful at work handling cat "samples". Not a big problem with how often I wash my hands!
I have gotten two ultrasounds at the OB, due to some minor issues early on. They wanted to make sure the pregnancy wasn't ectopic. Once again, everything is fine! We heard the heartbeat with the portable Doppler at the last visit, heart rate was 142 and beautiful!
I also have the bonus of having access to an ultrasound machine at work, and I have taken advantage of that a couple of times!
It is still strange to think of another person growing inside of me, and some days it doesn't seem real. But my belly has started to change, and seeing that little person on the ultrasound just blows me away.
I think that should sum up the first trimester pretty well. I will try to update this to keep everyone posted, and I'll post some pictures.

I know I tried to start a blog before, but I didn't keep up with it. Honestly, I didn't think I had much to write about. Now I'm going to try and update this regularly to let people know what's going on!
